BEAT THE JANUARY PRICE RISE

How Endure24Works

Each and every Endure24 journey is unique. That being said, there are some things you should know before you decide how to take part.

Solos

Battle through the lowest lows and the highest highs across the full 24-hour experience.

Solo runners are the beating heart of Endure24. Just like all the Pairs and Teams, their race starts at midday on Saturday, and carries on for 24 hours until midday on Sunday. The key difference is, of course, Solo runners have no teammates – nobody to share the burden with, nobody to pass the buck to. Just them and the trail for 24 hours straight.

As a Solo runner, you can choose your own challenge. Run non-stop through the night, stop for regular breaks, or even go to sleep for a few hours – it’s up to you. But the clock never stops!

However you choose to tackle it, you’ll enjoy some unique privileges as a Solo runner, including:

  • Keep all your your essentials within reach at the Solo Bag Drop area
  • Limit unnecessary energy expenditure with an exclusive trail-side camping zone
  • Earn the hallowed Yellow T-shirt for completing 100 miles (that’s 20 laps!)

You may wish to bring a crew to support you on your Solo adventure. That’s totally fine, though they will require a Supporter Pass to access the event if they are not also a participant.

Awards are granted to the top three Male and Female Solo runners.

Please note that you must be 18+ to enter as a solo runner.

Pairs

Find a friend and pair up for an epic, brutal, and relentless 24 hours out on the trail.

Taking on Endure24 as a pair is a challenge not to be underestimated. Whilst you may not run as many miles as a Solo runner, the stop-start nature of the challenge means it can be psychologically taxing. But you’ll enjoy the benefit of sharing the load with a teammate.

Only one runner from each Pair can be on the course at the same time. You do not have to run single laps through the weekend – it’s very common for one half of a Pair to run a double or even triple lap through the night, to give their teammate a chance to rest (they usually then return the favour!)

If you both want to take a break, that’s also fine – but remember, the clock never stops!

Awards are granted to the top three Male, Female, and Mixed Pairs.

You must be 18+ to enter as a Pair.

Teams

Find out what Endure24 is all about: non-stop action, non-stop challenge, non-stop fun!

Teams are truly what make Endure24 so special. Fast-paced and frantic or chilled out and cheerful, the diversity and energy they bring to the event makes it what it is.

Just as with Solo and Pairs, you are only allowed one runner on the course at a time. And, as a Team, you are free to take a break and resume later in the race.

Teams are grouped into three main categories:

  • Small Teams of 3-5
  • Large Teams of 6-8
  • XL Fun Teams of 9-12

There are special awards for the top three Male, Female, and Mixed Teams in each category, except XL Fun Teams, where simply the top three Teams overall are awarded.

You must be 16+ to take part as a member of a Team

Team Captains

The Team Captain has a very important role in managing a Team or Pair. They will be the person that enters the Team or Pair, and they have the responsibility of ensuring all Team members are signed up.

The Team Captain may manage the Team on the day, but if they are running they may prefer to allocate someone else, possibly a non-runner, to manage the Team at the event. Either way, it’s important to have someone managing the run schedule and checking everyone is OK. It’s not unusual for Team Captains to be walking round camp with a clipboard and radio making sure everyone knows when to eat, sleep and run!

Please note that you must be 18+ to be a Team Captain

The Exchange Area

Each time you finish a lap, unless you are carrying straight on, you should make contact with your next teammate in the Exchange Area – a high five or a fist bump will do.

If your runner is not there (it happens) you can wait for them, or carry on and do another lap. But once you start your lap, you need to complete it to avoid complications with results.

There is a screen opposite the Exchange Area which shows a live feed of the finishing straight, as well as the names of approaching runners. Please do not enter the Exchange Area until you see your runner appear on the screen, to avoid overcrowding.

Only runners waiting to exchange are permitted in the Exchange Area. To be fair to everyone, please do not enter the exchange unless you are a runner waiting to exchange – this includes Team members not running, Team Captains, and supporters.

Laps & Breaks

Runners are permitted take a break at any time – just make sure you enter and exit the course at the Exchange Area to avoid your laps not being registered correctly. You are also more than welcome to carry on and do more than one lap at a time each.

Only one member of a team must be on the course at any time. The one exception to this is at the end of your final runner’s lap – approximately 100m before the finish line, an access point will be opened up, allowing Team members to join their final runner for a Team finish. Just be aware of other runners on the course who may still be racing!
